A great spot for fresh air fitness or family fun with a view. Renovated about 5 years ago, the Esplanade Playground offers kids a place to swing, run, climb, and slide in a beautiful spot on the banks of the Charles River. The playground features several climbing structures (including one designed for toddlers), a tube tunnel, kids’ and infants’ swing sets, and a large, fenced-in play area. There are large wooden picnic tables with benches, and one that’s handicap accessible. During the summer months, there’s a snack bar nearby. And if you want to add some indoor fun to your day, you’re just a short walk to the Museum of Science.
